Job Description

Summary:

Our client is seeking a junior business analyst / IT delivery manager to contribute to an exciting opportunity supporting the Private Equity fund-of-funds, secondary, and co-investment business verticals. This position is a remote work assignment which requires occasional physical office presence.

This person will be responsible for analyzing end user change requests, creating requirements and working with the agile team to deliver technology changes. This individual will interface with different groups within the business and technology preparing business requirement documents and test cases, then driving the implementation of changes. In this role, assignments may include business analyst and IT delivery manager responsibilities (with a heavy emphasis on documentation), depending on the needs of the assigned initiatives.

The business analyst role focuses on defining current and future operational scenarios (processes, models, use cases, plans and solutions) and works with the users and technology to ensure proper translation of business requirements to IT solution requirements. The IT delivery management role encompass the activities necessary to assure work is delivered per requirements and negotiated timeline, while adhering to process requirements.

Responsibilities:

1.   Leading the development of application systems across the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), collaborating with all stakeholders to ensure timely delivery and assisting in managing end user expectations.

2.   Establishing a constructive and professional business rapport with both internal and external users and leveraging the resulting synergy to catalyze beneficial transformations.

3.   Supporting the business in making decisions regarding work prioritization, then performing the work aligned with the priorities set by the business.

4.   Gathering, documenting and upholding requirements and user stories, along with crafting functional narratives and detailed User Cases and Use Case Scenarios. This involves evaluating user requests within the framework of existing system precedents and potential future directions, identifying the true needs of the end user, which may differ from their initial request.

5.   Conducting end user interviews and organizing sessions for enhancing business process development to achieve a comprehensive grasp of both current practices and future-oriented business processes.

6.   Documenting business requirements, current (“As-Is”) and future (“To-Be”) processes, as well as knowledge articles, business alert bulletins and various technical and business communications.

7.   Collaborate with developers, providing clarifications and addressing inquiries to help ensure development code deliveries meet required functionality.

8.   Verifying design alignment with the requirements and documenting suggestions for addressing any identified issues.

9.   Translating business requirements into design specifications with a proactive focus on preemptively mitigates potential issues and resolving the issues that do arise through creating problem-solving.

10. Ensure all necessary process artifacts are generated, approved and stored in the artifact repository to maintain compliance with the SDLC process.

11. Supporting the business in the prioritization process, then collaborating with the team to ensure the delivery of work in accordance with the established priorities.

12. Participating as a versatile member of the agile team, fulfilling team assignments by taking on overflow and backfill tasks as needed for other team members that may sometimes fall outside of typical responsibilities.

13. Team leadership for work deliveries that ensures all changes adhere to the requirements of the Change Management process.

14. Project management of the agile team’s execution of IT work from initiation to completion, including planning then execution management that ensures deliveries are on time, within budget and meet quality standards. 

15. Matrix management of resources assigned to the agile team, tracking of performance monitoring, providing tracking reports, and leading the corresponding corrective actions to keep the project on track.

16. Elimination of obstacles that could hinder team deliveries, to help projects adhere to committed timelines.

 

Requirements:

1.      4-year degree 

2.      1 to 3 years of work experience gathering requirements, writing test documentation and procedures, tracking errors, documenting test results, and leading technology team deliveries.

3.      Demonstrates expertise in extracting business requirements and technology team leadership, using standard methodologies, and procedures.

4.      Experience working in the Private Equity Fund of Fund (FOF) market is preferred.

5.      Experience working with Private Equity Software systems like eFront FrontInvest is preferred.

6.      Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

7.      Possesses a can-do attitude, resourceful, excellent work ethic, enthusiastic, customer oriented.
