Job Description

Summary:

The Director Biostatistics leads a team of Biostatistics Associates, focusing on delivering high-quality statistical support for clinical investigations, clinical operations, and cross-functional initiatives. This role involves providing sound statistical guidance and oversight in line with regulatory expectations and best practices. Strong leadership skills, in-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements, and a solid understanding of biostatistics are essential.

This is a remote position, allowing you to work from home in most locations within the United States.

Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Management: Lead and manage a team of Biostatistics Associates by providing clear direction, setting performance expectations, and ensuring accountability. Delegate tasks appropriately and foster a supportive, inclusive team culture.
  • Team Development: Identify team members' strengths, talents, and development needs. Offer regular feedback and mentorship to enhance performance and support professional growth.
  • Performance Management: Set and align team goals with organizational objectives. Monitor and evaluate performance, provide recognition, and address gaps. Conduct performance reviews and career conversations.
  • Training and Development: Establish core competencies and identify training needs. Coordinate and facilitate training sessions and promote continuous learning and best practice sharing.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a statistical or clinical study development role, with at least 2 years in Health Sciences, Pharma, Biotech, or Medical Device Research
  • Proven leadership skills on project teams
  • Collaborative and consultative decision-making style
  • Strong organizational skills, flexibility, and ability to multi-task
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
  • Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in biostatistics or a statistics-related field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in leadership roles, focusing on people, strategy, and processes
