Job Description

Responsibilities/Job Duties: 

  • Communicate with clients to determine their project needs, assess the design direction, and evaluate the possibilities 
  • Collaborate with architects and other interior designers to assess & implement design plans 
  • Coordinate with consultants and subcontractors when necessary 
  • Perform design computations and prepare plans and renderings 
  • Ensure designs comply with building codes, ADA guidelines, and LEED 
  • Assist in color selection and spatial design by utilizing construction documents and knowledge 
  • Order samples, determine furniture specifications, and coordinate with sales representatives 
  • Adhere to QA/QC process, including design reviews 
  • Participate in workshops and discussions with prospective clients 
  • Create and distribute project finish record books 
  • Maintain project budgets and schedules 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or a related field required 
  • At least 5-10 years proven experience in the interior design industry 
  • Full understanding of Microsoft Suite, Revit, AutoCAD, and Adobe Suite 
  • Ability to interpret and produce sketches, drawings, and building programs 
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills 
  • Proficient knowledge of architectural document production 
  • Ability to develop floor plans, evaluations, and details 
  • Exceptionally strong creative and critical thinking skills 
  • Strong presentation skills and willingness to present designs to clients
