Summary:
The Provider Network Liaison will be responsible for engaging physician offices, clinics, and medical facilities to retrieve medical records, visit documentation, maintain strong relationships with healthcare providers, and ensure the efficient exchange of essential healthcare information. This role requires a strong commitment to accuracy, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Physician Office Outreach/Visits: Contact and visit physician offices and medical facilities to request and retrieve patient medical records and visit notes in accordance with established protocols.
- Coordinate Records Retrieval: Effectively communicate with healthcare providers and office staff over the phone to schedule visits, request records, and resolve any issues or concerns.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of all interactions, including visit schedules, record retrieval status, and communication with healthcare providers.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations governing the release and handling of medical records, including HIPAA regulations.
- Quality Assurance: Review retrieved medical records for completeness and accuracy, addressing any discrepancies or missing information as necessary.
- Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong professional relationships with physicians, office managers, and staff to facilitate a smooth records retrieval process.
- Problem Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve any challenges related to record retrieval or communication with healthcare providers, demonstrating excellent problem-solving skills.
- Reporting: Provide regular status updates and reports on records retrieval activities to the management team.
Requirements:
– Previous experience in medical records retrieval, healthcare coordination, or a similar role is preferred.
– Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with electronic health records (EHR)
systems is advantageous.
– Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both in person and over the phone.
– Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
– Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
– Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and a commitment to patient data privacy and security.
