Job Description

Title: Financial Specialist

Responsibilities:

  • Budget and Forecasting Support:
    • Assist in developing comprehensive annual financial plans.
    • Track and report on grant-funded projects and organizational expenses.
    • Facilitate budget development for grant proposals in coordination with various departments.
  • Financial Systems and Controls:
    • Maintain accurate records and financial systems, ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
    • Manage monthly financial reconciliations and reporting.
    • Enhance internal controls and procedures to safeguard financial assets.
  • Accounts Management:
    • Oversee accounts receivable and payable, ensuring timely processing of transactions.
    • Maintain vendor relations and manage contract negotiations and executions.
    • Support financial aspects of corporate credit programs and employee expense reimbursements.
  • Financial Reporting and Compliance:
    • Assist in preparing detailed financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
    • Ensure accuracy and compliance in all financial documentation and reporting.
    • Support annual audit preparations and liaise with auditors to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Payroll and Benefits Administration:
    • Support the management of payroll processes ensuring accuracy and compliance.
    • Coordinate with HR to manage employee benefits and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a closely related field is preferred. Relevant professional experience may substitute for educational qualifications.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in a financial role, preferably within a nonprofit setting.
  • Familiarity with financial management software like Sage Intacct and Bill.com.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to the mission of promoting reproductive rights and justice.
