Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing Patients: Explain procedures to patients and help them feel comfortable.
- Drawing Blood: Use needles and other equipment to collect blood samples.
- Labeling Samples: Ensure samples are correctly labeled and sent to the appropriate laboratory for analysis.
- Maintaining Records: Accurately update patient information and keep detailed records of blood samples.
- Following Safety Protocols: Adhere to health and safety guidelines to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Assisting Patients: Help nervous or frightened patients remain calm during the procedure.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficiency in venipuncture and other blood collection techniques.
- Accurate labeling and handling of samples.
- Ability to explain procedures and reassure patients.
- Sensitivity to patients' needs and concerns.
- A diploma in phlebotomy and relevant certifications
