Temporary Technology Procurement Specialist

Your primary responsibility will be to manage the acquisition of technology (hardware, software, and services) to meet the diverse needs of the Agency. You will collaborate closely with various business units to understand their requirements and assist in selecting the most suitable devices for their specific use cases.

Primary Roles and Responsibilities

  • Identify and Forecast Technology Needs: Partner with business units to anticipate and plan for technology requirements.
  • Negotiate with Suppliers/Vendors: Secure the best pricing and terms for technology acquisitions.
  • Manage the Full Procurement Lifecycle:
  • Create requisitions as needed.
  • Solicit quotes and proposals from vendors.
  • Generate purchase orders for goods and services.
  • Receive, unbox, asset tag, inventory, and record purchased items.
  • Analyze and process invoices to ensure accuracy and timely submission to Accounts Payable.
  • Communicate Order Status: Keep business units informed about order status and delivery timelines.
  • Collaborate with IT Operations: Ensure alignment with deployment timelines and requirements.
  • Handle Equipment: Independently lift and unpack equipment weighing up to 70 lbs.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: College degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Skills: Strong organizational, communication (oral and written), and interpersonal skills.
  • Multitasking: Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours when needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with hardware devices, systems, and platforms.
  • Hardware Expertise: Knowledge of hardware components, peripherals, and accessories.
  • Software Understanding: Understanding of software categories and applications.
  • Productivity Tools: Proficiency with the Microsoft Office productivity suite.
  • Inventory Management: Experience with inventory and asset management solutions.
