Responsibilities:

• Lead the Medical Staff Services department to ensure smooth and efficient operations, overseeing credentialing, privileging, and compliance for physicians and medical staff

• Collaborate closely with the Chief of Staff, Chief Medical Officer, and other leadership teams to align medical staff processes with hospital-wide goals

• Ensure that all medical staff meet the necessary licensing, credentialing, and continuing education requirements

• Maintain compliance with state, federal, and regulatory standards related to medical staff management

• Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance medical staff performance and patient care outcomes

• Provide strategic direction and management for the department, ensuring it operates efficiently and meets the needs of the hospital

• Supervise a team of credentialing specialists, providing coaching, training, and development opportunities to foster professional growth

• Monitor and manage the medical staff budget, allocating resources effectively and within the budgetary constraints

• Support the hospital’s mission of providing exceptional healthcare to the Western Colorado community as the Director of Credentialing and Medical Staff

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)

• Certification from the National Association of Medical Staff Services (either CPMSM or CPCS) is welcomed

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing a credentialing or Medical Staff Services department, preferably in a healthcare setting

• Strong knowledge of accreditation standards, including those set by The Joint Commission, NCQA, and other relevant bodies

• Demonstrated ability to work with senior leadership teams and cross-functional departments

• Exceptional organizational, communication, and leadership skills

• Ability to implement and manage process improvements

• Familiarity with medical staff software and database management
