Job Description
A banking institution in the Bronx is seeking a full-time Human Resource Specialist to support and enhance their HR operations. This is an additional headcount on a growing team, with responsibilities spanning payroll, benefits, personnel records, and employee relations. Ideal candidate has at least 3 years of related experience and a passion for supporting people and process.
Schedule: Hybrid – 4 days onsite / 1 day remote
Hours: 9:00am – 5:00pm ET
Salary: $55-70K
Responsibilities:
- Support day-to-day HR operations including employee relations, policy guidance, and general inquiries
- Assist with payroll processing in collaboration with third-party vendor
- Maintain employee records and HRIS data; generate reports as needed
- Participate in internal and external audits by gathering and submitting documentation
- Manage employee life cycle events such as onboarding, leaves of absence, and terminations
- Support benefits administration, including eligibility tracking, enrollments, changes, and billing accuracy
- Coordinate recruitment efforts including candidate screening and interviews
- Conduct new hire orientations and support employee onboarding
- Assist in training and development initiatives and employee recognition programs
- Provide administrative support across a wide range of HR functions
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field required
- HR certification preferred
- Minimum 3 years of HR-related experience
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficient in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite
- Must be local and able to work onsite 4 days per week in the Bronx
