Job Description

Title: Preconstruction Project Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review RFP/RFQ documentation to assess project desirability, identify risks, and determine win strategy
  • Lead proposal development including technical writeups and review of submission materials
  • Coordinate internal bid efforts including subcontractor outreach, bid scoping, and proposal evaluation
  • Prepare and maintain project tracking tools such as master bidding lists, project-specific agendas, and critical path schedules
  • Evaluate contractor proposals for coverage and alignment with project requirements
  • Oversee feasibility, constructability, and value engineering studies for in-progress pursuits
  • Interface directly with clients and consultants to ensure preconstruction milestones are met
  • Facilitate seamless project handoff from preconstruction to project management teams
  • Build and maintain relationships with industry stakeholders including owners, design teams, and trade partners
  • Participate in outreach efforts and represent the company at events such as trade shows and networking meetings

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience managing commercial construction or preconstruction projects
  • Demonstrated expertise in the bidding process and contractor negotiations
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and construction drawings
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills
  • Highly detail-oriented with a track record of meeting hard deadlines
  • Proficiency in feasibility analysis, value engineering, and cost evaluations
  • Valid driver’s license with no more than 2 points; ability to travel to local job sites
  • Experience in construction estimating or an architectural background is a plus
