Job Description
Title: Preconstruction Project Manager
Key Responsibilities:
- Review RFP/RFQ documentation to assess project desirability, identify risks, and determine win strategy
- Lead proposal development including technical writeups and review of submission materials
- Coordinate internal bid efforts including subcontractor outreach, bid scoping, and proposal evaluation
- Prepare and maintain project tracking tools such as master bidding lists, project-specific agendas, and critical path schedules
- Evaluate contractor proposals for coverage and alignment with project requirements
- Oversee feasibility, constructability, and value engineering studies for in-progress pursuits
- Interface directly with clients and consultants to ensure preconstruction milestones are met
- Facilitate seamless project handoff from preconstruction to project management teams
- Build and maintain relationships with industry stakeholders including owners, design teams, and trade partners
- Participate in outreach efforts and represent the company at events such as trade shows and networking meetings
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience managing commercial construction or preconstruction projects
- Demonstrated expertise in the bidding process and contractor negotiations
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and construction drawings
- Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills
- Highly detail-oriented with a track record of meeting hard deadlines
- Proficiency in feasibility analysis, value engineering, and cost evaluations
- Valid driver’s license with no more than 2 points; ability to travel to local job sites
- Experience in construction estimating or an architectural background is a plus
