Job Description
Title: Recipient Services Representative
Key Responsibilities:
- Process updates for recipient records including direct deposit, address changes, and tax withholding elections
- Review death certificates, status forms, or returned mail to stop or resume benefit payments appropriately
- Assist with processing stop payments, voids, reissues, and retractions for benefit checks
- Support overpayment resolution and repayment agreements with benefit recipients
- Respond to verification requests and 1099-related inquiries
- Research discrepancies using internal systems and external tools (including Accurint)
- Track outstanding or recovered overpayments and assist with fraud claim recovery documentation
- Maintain accurate digital records and prepare custom letters and confirmation documents
- Monitor transaction queues for consistent throughput and timely updates
- Provide guidance to accounting on check remailings and payment corrections
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of administrative, pension, or benefits-related customer service experience
- Strong accuracy and attention to detail, especially in financial or compliance-based data
- Proficiency with MS Office (especially Excel); experience working with internal databases or document imaging systems preferred
- Ability to manage multiple queues and complete 40–60 transactions daily, depending on complexity
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for client and internal correspondence
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude and professional demeanor
- Flexible and responsive to changing priorities in a deadline-driven environment
