Construction Project Manager – South Bend, IN

Location: Greater South Bend Area

A well-respected general contractor in the Indiana market is actively seeking a Construction Project Manager to take ownership of projects from preconstruction through closeout. Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Guide and coordinate internal teams and external partners including subcontractors, engineers, architects, and clients, ensuring alignment across all phases of the project.
  • Budget Oversight: Develop and track budgets, monitor expenditures, and implement cost-saving measures without sacrificing quality.
  • Scheduling & Execution: Build and manage detailed project schedules. Anticipate and resolve potential delays to keep everything moving forward.
  • Quality Control: Maintain high construction standards across every phase. Ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and client expectations.
  • Communication: Serve as the key point of contact for clients and stakeholders. Provide timely updates and facilitate proactive issue resolution.
  • Compliance & Permits: Ensure all permits and approvals are in place, and that the project complies with all applicable regulations.
  • Change Management: Identify and manage scope, budget, or schedule changes with transparency and professionalism.
  • Safety Leadership: Promote and enforce strong safety practices on site. Foster a culture of accountability and hazard awareness.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records throughout the project lifecycle—contracts, change orders, schedules, financial tracking, and reports.
  • Client Success: Prioritize client satisfaction by delivering on expectations, managing risk, and creating a smooth project experience.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience leading commercial construction projects from start to finish
  • Solid understanding of construction means, methods, scheduling, and job costing
  • Proficient with construction management tools and software (Procore, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, etc.)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
