Job Description

Our client is looking for a results-oriented SMB Sales Manager to lead their remote sales team focused on small to mid-sized business clients. This individual will be responsible for driving new business growth, mentoring a team of Account Executives, and refining sales processes to support scalable success. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a background in inside sales or service-based B2B offerings, and a passion for helping SMBs thrive. Understanding of transactional and shorter sales cycles and smaller deal sizes is key to success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and manage a remote team of SMB Account Executives to exceed sales targets
  • Develop and implement sales strategies for customer acquisition and retention in the SMB market
  • Monitor pipeline health, individual performance, and team KPIs through CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot)
  • Provide regular feedback and ongoing training to improve skills and productivity across the team
  • Partner with marketing and product teams to align campaigns, messaging, and lead generation strategies
  • Report on sales performance, forecasts, and pipeline activity to senior leadership
  • Continuously improve internal processes and workflows to support a growing team and client base

Qualifications

  • 6-8 years of B2B sales experience, with at least 3-4 years managing a sales team (preferably SMB-focused)
  • Proven success in a fully remote sales leadership role
  • Strong understanding of inside sales techniques and the SMB buying cycle
  • Exceptional communication, coaching, and organizational skills
  • Proficient in sales technology tools (CRM, sales engagement platforms, virtual meeting software)
  • Self-starter with the ability to lead a distributed team across time zones

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in service-based industries such as marketing, HR, finance, or compliance services
  • Background in launching or scaling outbound sales programs
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field
