Job Description

Seeking an experienced Traveling Superintendent to lead field operations on a 130,000 SF speculative warehouse project in Richmond, Virginia. This role is responsible for the daily coordination, supervision, and execution of construction activities on-site, ensuring quality, safety, and schedule adherence. The ideal candidate has a strong background in tilt-wall and concrete construction and is comfortable managing multiple trades on fast-paced light industrial or distribution center projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all on-site construction activities from groundbreaking through turnover
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, inspections, and deliveries to meet project milestones
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols, enforcing a zero-incident culture on site
  • Maintain and update daily logs, schedules, and field reports
  • Work closely with project managers, architects, and engineers to address field issues
  • Lead weekly subcontractor meetings and conduct regular safety toolbox talks
  • Monitor quality control and enforce project specifications and plans
  • Track progress and communicate updates to internal teams and stakeholders
  • Oversee punch list development and closeout process

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of superintendent experience on ground-up projects
  • Proven track record with ground-up tilt-wall or precast warehouse or distribution center builds
  • Strong knowledge of scheduling software, construction sequencing, and site logistics
  • OSHA 30 certification required
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel and work on out-of-town assignments
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to problem-solve in the field
