Medical Affairs/Medical Director – Virology/COVID Platform

Pharmaceutical Company in NJ

Seeking a senior-level Medical Affairs professional to help shape and execute U.S. medical strategy for a virology/COVID-19 platform, including pre-launch planning. In this role, you will:

• Provide medical guidance across brand strategy, scientific communications, and launch initiatives
• Review and sign off on product/disease content to ensure scientific accuracy and compliance
• Serve as a key partner to cross-functional teams including Clinical Research, Safety, Regulatory, and Marketing
• Lead KOL engagement strategy and maintain strong external scientific relationships
• Oversee publication planning, congress activities, and medical education
• Guide evidence generation strategies, including RWE and health economics studies
• Contribute to early-stage asset evaluation and regulatory submissions
• Support pharmacovigilance efforts and internal SOP development

Qualifications:

• Advanced degree (MD, DO, PhD, or PharmD) in a scientific discipline
• 8–10+ years in Medical Affairs within pharma/biotech
• Experience in virology required; COVID-19 or vaccine exposure strongly preferred
• US launch experience and prior work with cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., MSLs, KOLs, Sales)
• Background in designing and leading RWE and data-driven studies
• Strong publication planning and scientific communication leadership
• Comfortable flexing across different products or therapeutic areas as needed
