Job Description

Accountant – reports to the Controller, looking for candidates who have some type of administrative experience.

Job duties include:

  • Take responsibility for coordinating the accounts payable process including:
    • Receive and organize vendor invoices.
    • Manage communications with vendors.
    • Obtain invoice authorization from the appropriate party.
    • Determine proper general ledger coding.
    • BC/PBI has implemented a state-of-the-art Project Job Costing module (PJC) that supports highly detailed project costing. The module is integrated with the accounts payable subledger.
    • Prepare all accounts payable subledger entries.
    • Prepare check or electronic payments.
    • Ensure timely payment of vendor invoices.
  • Assist in maintaining various schedules of financial assets, including, but not limited to fair market values and other relevant metrics (income, etc.)
  • Assist in activities necessary to complete the financial close of all entities including recording investment and operational activity.
  • Assist in preparation of tax work papers and coordinate with outside accountants regarding the preparation of tax returns and tax estimates.
  • Prepare 1099 Forms.
  • Prepare a monthly reconciliation for every bank account.
  • Assist in administering grant-making activities (including non-environmental organizations).
  • Assist in preparation of budgets, including projecting income and cash available for reinvestment after expenses.
  • Communicate with a wide range of personnel, including caretakers of the President’s residences.
  • Prepare various general ledger reconciliations and analyses as needed.
  • Provide clerical and administrative support to management as requested.
  • Maintain an orderly accounting filing system.
  • Assist in analysis, monitoring, and control of expenses.
  • Collaborate with the team to support the daily needs of the President including:
  • -Maintaining calendar filled with business, non-profit, social and family commitments 
  • -Coordinating domestic and international travel arrangements
  • Arranging and participating in meetings and conference calls
  • Such other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Requirements:

Accountant – reports to the Controller, looking for candidates who have some type of administrative experience.

  • Bachelors degree preferred
  • Relevant Accounting/Bookkeeping experience, and ideally administrative related experience
