Regional Pharmacy Director

Overview

• Lead inpatient pharmacy operations across five hospitals, ensuring regulatory compliance and clinical excellence.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize pharmaceutical care and strategic planning.
• Oversee pharmacy services for main campuses and critical access facilities in Wisconsin and Illinois.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of 200 staff, including 11 direct reports.
• Enjoy autonomy as the primary pharmacy leader, driving innovation and growth.
• Work closely with the Vice President of Operations to align pharmacy goals with organizational objectives.
• Contribute to the success of a thriving healthcare network with a focus on patient care.
• Position based in Janesville or Rockford, with occasional travel to other facilities.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Oversee daily pharmacy operations across five acute care hospitals, ensuring safe medication practices.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to meet regulatory standards and hospital requirements.
• Manage pharmacy budgets, inventory, and purchasing for cost-effective operations.
• Lead and mentor pharmacists, technicians, and support staff to foster professional growth.
• Collaborate with clinical leaders to enhance pharmaceutical care and performance improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws and hospital policies.
• Participate in hospital committees and contribute to strategic planning efforts.
• Monitor and improve clinical pharmacy services, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.

Job Requirements

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree with active licensure in Wisconsin and Illinois.
• Minimum of 3 years of acute care pharmacy management experience; 5 years preferred.
• Proven expertise in regulatory compliance and strategic growth within healthcare settings.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, overseeing large and diverse teams.
• Ability to travel occasionally to multiple hospital locations within the region.
• Experience in budget management and cost-effective pharmacy operations.
• Knowledge of Joint Commission, CMS, USP / standards.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams.
