Job Description
Overview
- Lead inpatient pharmacy operations across five hospitals, ensuring regulatory compliance and clinical excellence.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize pharmaceutical care and strategic planning.
- Oversee pharmacy services for main campuses and critical access facilities in Wisconsin and Illinois.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of 200 staff, including 11 direct reports.
- Enjoy autonomy as the primary pharmacy leader, driving innovation and growth.
- Work closely with the Vice President of Operations to align pharmacy goals with organizational objectives.
- Contribute to the success of a thriving healthcare network with a focus on patient care.
- Position based in Janesville or Rockford, with occasional travel to other facilities.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Oversee daily pharmacy operations across five acute care hospitals, ensuring safe medication practices.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to meet regulatory standards and hospital requirements.
- Manage pharmacy budgets, inventory, and purchasing for cost-effective operations.
- Lead and mentor pharmacists, technicians, and support staff to foster professional growth.
- Collaborate with clinical leaders to enhance pharmaceutical care and performance improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws and hospital policies.
- Participate in hospital committees and contribute to strategic planning efforts.
- Monitor and improve clinical pharmacy services, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
Job Requirements
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree with active licensure in Wisconsin and Illinois.
- Minimum of 3 years of acute care pharmacy management experience; 5 years preferred.
- Proven expertise in regulatory compliance and strategic growth within healthcare settings.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, overseeing large and diverse teams.
- Ability to travel occasionally to multiple hospital locations within the region.
- Experience in budget management and cost-effective pharmacy operations.
- Knowledge of Joint Commission, CMS, USP / standards.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams.
