Job Description
Overview
- Lead nursing operations in a dynamic Emergency Department during evening shifts.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in a Level 1 Trauma Center.
- Ensure high-quality patient care and compliance with clinical protocols.
- Oversee a 62-bed unit equipped for trauma, cardiac emergencies, and stroke.
- Utilize cutting-edge diagnostic and treatment facilities for optimal outcomes.
- Support a team of emergency-trained nurses and board-certified physicians.
- Contribute to seamless patient transitions and long-term care strategies.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Manage staffing, patient flow, and resource allocation during evening shifts.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to nursing staff for clinical excellence.
- Monitor compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policies.
- Address operational and clinical issues to enhance patient outcomes.
- Facilitate effective communication between staff, patients, and hospital leadership.
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives and strategic planning.
- Ensure the department meets its operational and clinical objectives.
Job Requirements
- Associate of Science in Nursing required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Current RN license or eligibility to practice in the District of Columbia.
- Minimum of 4 years of Emergency Department nursing experience.
- At least 2 years of leadership experience in a clinical setting.
- Certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS required; TNCC and CEN preferred.
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
- Experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center or academic teaching facility preferred.
