Job Description

Overview

  • Lead nursing operations in a dynamic Emergency Department during evening shifts.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in a Level 1 Trauma Center.
  • Ensure high-quality patient care and compliance with clinical protocols.
  • Oversee a 62-bed unit equipped for trauma, cardiac emergencies, and stroke.
  • Utilize cutting-edge diagnostic and treatment facilities for optimal outcomes.
  • Support a team of emergency-trained nurses and board-certified physicians.
  • Contribute to seamless patient transitions and long-term care strategies.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage staffing, patient flow, and resource allocation during evening shifts.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to nursing staff for clinical excellence.
  • Monitor compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policies.
  • Address operational and clinical issues to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Facilitate effective communication between staff, patients, and hospital leadership.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives and strategic planning.
  • Ensure the department meets its operational and clinical objectives.

Job Requirements

  • Associate of Science in Nursing required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Current RN license or eligibility to practice in the District of Columbia.
  • Minimum of 4 years of Emergency Department nursing experience.
  • At least 2 years of leadership experience in a clinical setting.
  • Certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS required; TNCC and CEN preferred.
  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
  • Experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center or academic teaching facility preferred.
