Overview

  • Join a dynamic team as a Property Accountant, contributing to financial operations within the real estate development sector.
  • Ensure accurate financial data management for development projects, supporting strategic decision-making processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to monitor project costs and optimize expenditures.
  • Provide expertise in month-end and year-end financial closings and reporting.
  • Utilize advanced accounting principles to maintain compliance with industry standards.
  • Engage with vendors to ensure accurate invoice processing and payment management.
  • Contribute to financial analyses, evaluating investment returns and profitability metrics.
  • Support audit processes by collaborating with external auditors and providing necessary documentation.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Execute month-end and year-end closings, preparing journal entries and financial reports.
  • Monitor construction expenses and project costs, identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Process vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies.
  • Reconcile intercompany accounts and consolidate financial ledgers for reporting accuracy.
  • Maintain project cash flows, ensuring adequate funding and addressing challenges.
  • Conduct financial analyses of development projects to assess profitability and risks.
  • Collaborate with auditors during annual reviews, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
  • Perform administrative tasks related to financial recordkeeping and documentation management.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required; Master's degree or CPA certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with a focus on real estate development.
  • Proficiency in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and industry-specific standards.
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel and familiarity with Yardi software preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for team collaboration.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities efficiently.
