Job Description

Overview

  • Lead consolidation processes for a global energy firm, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
  • Collaborate with international teams to maintain data integrity and streamline intercompany reconciliations.
  • Support corporate accounting close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Drive process improvements within Oracle Financial Close and Consolidation modules.
  • Provide centralized accounting liaison services for teams in Brazil and Mexico.
  • Monitor corporate structure changes and their impact on consolidation processes.
  • Develop templates and standards to enhance master data integrity.
  • Contribute to a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment focused on energy innovation.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes, ensuring accurate data flow into financial statements.
  • Perform variance analysis and error correction, focusing on intercompany eliminations.
  • Administer and document intercompany processes to ensure consistency and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure transparency and integrity in financial analysis.
  • Oversee adjustments related to corporate structure changes, working with Legal and Tax teams.
  • Maintain chart of accounts mapping and reconciliation for international teams.
  • Support compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements for consolidations and reporting.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement within financial systems and reporting.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Accounting or related field required.
  • CPA or international equivalent preferred, with 5-8 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Proficiency in Oracle Financial Close and Consolidation module, including Smart View.
  • Experience with intercompany transactions and consolidations for publicly traded companies.
  • Proven ability to deliver accurate and timely accounting information in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Commitment to continuous process improvement and operational efficiency.
