Overview

  • The Estimator role involves preparing accurate cost estimates for construction projects, ensuring alignment with client specifications and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with project teams to analyze blueprints, specifications, and proposals for comprehensive cost evaluations.
  • Provide detailed reports and presentations to stakeholders, supporting informed decision-making processes.
  • Maintain updated knowledge of market trends, material costs, and industry practices to ensure competitive estimates.
  • Work closely with vendors and subcontractors to obtain accurate pricing and availability information.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards during estimation processes.
  • Contribute to project planning and scheduling by providing reliable cost data and recommendations.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for cost optimization and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Analyze project requirements, specifications, and blueprints to develop accurate cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure alignment of estimation with project goals.
  • Prepare detailed bid proposals and cost breakdowns for client review and approval.
  • Conduct market research to identify cost-effective materials and subcontractor services.
  • Monitor project progress and update cost estimates as necessary to reflect changes.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of all estimation activities and decisions.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to the team regarding cost-related matters.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and industry standards during estimation processes.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in a relevant field is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimation; 8 years preferred.
  • Proficiency in estimation software and tools, with strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients and project teams.
  • Knowledge of construction materials, methods, and market trends.
  • Ability to work on-site and collaborate closely with project stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
