Job Description

Overview

  • Provide laboratory services under supervision to support patient care and medical diagnostics.
  • Perform laboratory procedures adhering to accepted standards and practices.
  • Ensure compliance with state, federal, and accrediting body regulations.
  • Work on-site during scheduled shifts, including nights and weekends.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver accurate diagnostic results.
  • Utilize laboratory equipment and technology effectively and safely.
  • Maintain a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Contribute to a positive and efficient laboratory environment.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Conduct laboratory tests to support medical diagnoses and treatment plans.
  • Prepare and analyze samples following established protocols.
  • Document and report test results accurately and promptly.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure proper calibration.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and infection control procedures.
  • Participate in quality assurance programs to ensure high standards.
  • Assist in training new staff and students as required.
  • Collaborate with the laboratory director and team to improve processes.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant field.
  • Certification as Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) by ASCP or AMT(HHS).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Minimum of 1 year of clinical laboratory experience; 3 years preferred.
  • Completion of a clinical laboratory training program accredited by ABHES or NAACLS.
  • Ability to work night shifts and weekends as scheduled.
  • Strong understanding of laboratory safety and regulatory compliance.
