Job Description

Overview

  • Lead the tax department for a prominent real estate investment and development organization.
  • Oversee tax reporting and filing for diverse property portfolios and partnerships.
  • Manage tax planning and filing for family office members and various trusts.
  • Collaborate with foreign tax advisors to ensure compliance with international tax requirements.
  • Implement and maintain processes to streamline tax-related workflows and enhance efficiency.
  • Support and mentor a team of five tax professionals, fostering their growth and development.
  • Contribute to the strategic planning and execution of tax-related initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and international tax regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Prepare complex individual, partnership, S-corporation, trust, estate, and gift tax returns.
  • Issue K-1 and tax returns for both entity-level and partnership-level reporting.
  • Track tax estimates, refunds, and credits across multiple entities.
  • Develop and implement internal processes to optimize tax workflows.
  • Supervise and mentor team members, ensuring their professional development.
  • Collaborate with foreign tax advisors to address international tax filing requirements.
  • Provide exceptional client service and maintain high ethical standards.
  • Stay current with applicable tax strategies and regulations to ensure compliance.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, law, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • CPA certification required, with a minimum of 8 years of federal tax compliance experience.
  • Five years of supervisory experience, including mentoring and counseling associates.
  • Proficiency in CCH Axcess Software and Microsoft Suite applications.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Ability to lead and supervise teams while ensuring timely completion of projects.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated on tax strategies.
  • Demonstrated history of professional advancement and exceptional client service.
