Overview
- Lead clinical and professional management of nursing and surgical teams in ambulatory surgical centers.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary patient care and ensure cost-efficient center operations.
- Provide high-level clinical leadership and expertise in nursing practices.
- Mentor and guide clinical staff on operations, policies, and best practices.
- Evaluate and implement best practices to meet center needs effectively.
- Ensure compliance with legal and professional requirements in clinical practice and documentation.
- Maintain effective communication networks within centers and other departments.
- Play a lead role in maintaining a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
- Contribute to ongoing professional and service developments at the centers.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Direct and supervise clinical functions and activities of ambulatory surgical centers.
- Manage systems, budget, materials, policies, and practices within nursing care.
- Lead staff orientation, competencies, education, and in-service training.
- Ensure compliance with medication incident reporting procedures and facilitate learning.
- Develop and implement evidence-based standards and guidelines for practice.
- Participate in regular staff meetings to discuss operational practices and issues.
- Maintain accurate and concise records, including training and performance plans.
- Collaborate with medical personnel to implement changes in nursing practices.
- Support and supervise front-line staff to assist in their roles effectively.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; MSN preferred.
- Current California Registered Nurse License in good standing.
- Minimum 5 years as a registered nurse; 3 years surgical nurse experience preferred.
- Progressive leadership experience required; Director of Nursing experience preferred.
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required; AORN for Infection Control preferred.
- Knowledge of clinical operations, fiscal management, and healthcare administration systems.
- Ability to lead staff in orientation, training, and compliance with infection control standards.
- Skill in resource management, multi-tasking, and workload control.
