Overview
- Serve as the Admissions Coordinator for a healthcare facility, ensuring efficient resident admission processes and compliance with established policies.
- Coordinate and manage admissions procedures, including documentation, resident interviews, and room assignments.
- Collaborate with inter-department personnel to maintain accurate records of admissions and discharges.
- Support business office operations and perform secretarial duties as needed.
- Ensure compliance with facility standards and mission in all activities.
- Maintain registries and records in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Provide age-appropriate care and service considering residents' physical and psychosocial needs.
- Adhere to compliance programs and report concerns to management.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Interview residents/guardians to obtain necessary information and signatures for admission.
- Prepare identification records and admission papers in accordance with policies.
- Maintain accurate records of available beds and resident admissions/discharges.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with facility personnel.
- Attach preadmission documentation to admission papers as appropriate.
- Perform secretarial duties and assist business office personnel as required.
- Ensure compliance with facility standards and mission in all activities.
- Maintain registries for admission and discharge of residents.
Job Requirements
- Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree or equivalent educational background.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in admissions coordination, preferably in LTC/SNF settings.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills to manage admissions processes effectively.
- Proficiency in maintaining accurate records and registries as per facility policies.
- Ability to collaborate with inter-department personnel and maintain professional relationships.
- Knowledge of compliance programs and ability to report concerns to management.
- Experience in providing age-appropriate care and service to residents.
- Availability to work on-site Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM or 9 AM to 5 PM.
