Overview
- Lead and supervise peer support staff in a behavioral health setting, ensuring adherence to recovery-oriented and trauma-informed care models.
- Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for Peer Specialists, Family Peer Advocates, and Certified Recovery Peer Advocates.
- Ensure compliance with ethical guidelines, agency policies, and regulatory requirements in peer-led interventions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate peer support services into comprehensive care plans.
- Develop and refine peer support service models aligned with community needs and organizational goals.
- Monitor performance, provide constructive feedback, and promote self-care among peer staff.
- Conduct audits and analyze data to evaluate the effectiveness of peer support services.
- Represent the organization in community meetings and professional events to advocate for peer support services.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Supervise and manage Peer Specialists, Family Peer Advocates, Youth Peer Specialists, and CRPAs, ensuring alignment with program goals.
- Provide individual and group supervision, coaching, and performance evaluations for peer support staff.
- Develop policies, procedures, and workflows to support peer roles within the organization.
- Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of peer support activities in compliance with standards.
- Educate team members on peer support principles and the value of lived experience in recovery.
- Act as a liaison between peer staff and clinical teams to enhance collaboration and service integration.
- Implement evaluation tools to measure the impact of peer services and identify areas for improvement.
- Build relationships with community organizations and advocacy groups to strengthen peer programming.
Job Requirements
- Master’s degree in social work, mental health counseling, psychology, or a related behavioral health field.
- LCSW, LMSW, LMHC, or LMFT licensure required.
- Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience in behavioral health, peer support, or family advocacy programs.
- Experience with individuals and families facing mental health or substance use challenges.
- Strong knowledge of peer support principles, trauma-informed care, and recovery-oriented services.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) documentation and data reporting.
- Preferred certifications: NYCPS, FPA, YPA, or CRPA.
- Bilingual in Spanish or another community language is a plus.
