Overview
- Collaborate with the Mechanical Engineering department to produce high-quality design documents meeting project requirements and client expectations.
- Assist in drafting, system layout, and design documentation for building systems using industry-standard software.
- Prepare mechanical drawings, plans, and models ensuring accuracy and adherence to firm standards.
- Coordinate with architectural, electrical, and structural teams to align designs across disciplines.
- Manage multiple deadlines effectively while maintaining attention to detail and quality control.
- Participate in project meetings, providing input and clarifying design needs.
- Incorporate redlines, updates, and revisions promptly to ensure project progress.
- Contribute to the overall project quality control and adherence to firm standards.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Draft mechanical system layouts and design documentation for building systems using AutoCAD and Revit.
- Prepare mechanical drawings and plans ensuring compliance with project specifications and standards.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure design alignment and integration.
- Manage multiple project deadlines while maintaining high-quality output.
- Participate in project meetings to provide technical input and clarify design requirements.
- Incorporate feedback, updates, and revisions into design documents promptly.
- Ensure adherence to firm standards and contribute to quality control processes.
- Support engineers in achieving project objectives and client satisfaction.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
- 2–5+ years of experience as a Mechanical Designer or Drafter in the A/E/C industry.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with Revit preferred.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems within buildings, including HVAC and hydronics.
- Ability to work collaboratively with engineers, architects, and external consultants.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
- Hybrid work environment with limited WFH flexibility after onboarding.
