Overview

- Assist in patient intake, medical history documentation, and health education within a multidisciplinary team.
- Perform laboratory tests, manage lab requisitions, and ensure quality assurance compliance.
- Support abortion services, including counseling and surgical assistance, maintaining professionalism and patient-centered care.
- Contribute to clinic operations, including equipment maintenance, supply stocking, and facility issue reporting.
- Engage in training and competency checks to uphold clinical standards and expand skillsets.
- Ensure accurate documentation in electronic health records, promoting optimal patient flow and service quality.
- Maintain flexibility in scheduling, including evenings and Saturdays, to meet clinic needs.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Conduct patient intake and obtain comprehensive medical histories for clinical review.
- Provide education on sexual and reproductive health topics, ensuring informed patient consent.
- Perform laboratory tests, manage requisitions, and package samples for transport.
- Assist in abortion services, including counseling and surgical room support.
- Ensure compliance with clinic protocols, including infection control and PPE usage.
- Document patient interactions and services accurately in electronic health records.
- Participate in staff training and orientation, contributing to team development.
- Monitor patient flow and address operational issues to minimize wait times.
- Support clinic operations through equipment maintenance and supply management.
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; Medical Assistant certification preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant; 2 years preferred.
- Certification in Phlebotomy and experience with electronic health records.
- Superior customer service and teamwork skills in high-volume settings.
- Flexibility to work non-consecutive days, evenings, and Saturdays as needed.
- Commitment to health equity and racial justice principles in healthcare.
- Proficiency in Spanish preferred for bilingual candidates.
- Knowledge of Medicaid screening and sexual reproductive health services.
- Maintains up-to-date Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
