Overview
- Provide specialized care in outpatient musculoskeletal medicine, focusing on physical rehabilitation and pain management.
- Diagnose and treat patients with injuries, diseases, or disabling conditions affecting physical functioning.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient care and outcomes.
- Perform medical procedures including injections and electrodiagnostic testing for effective treatment.
- Prescribe orthotic devices and monitor their effectiveness in improving patient mobility.
- Conduct evaluations and re-evaluations to assess patient progress and adapt treatment plans.
- Utilize advanced diagnostic tools such as X-rays, MRIs, and ultrasounds for accurate assessments.
- Provide counseling to patients and families to support lifestyle adaptations and recovery.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Examine patients to determine their need for physical therapy and rehabilitation services.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address patient-specific needs.
- Perform medical procedures such as trigger point and joint injections to alleviate pain.
- Lead and supervise a team of physical therapists and assistants to ensure quality care.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans based on clinical evaluations.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests to support accurate diagnoses and treatment decisions.
- Document patient progress and maintain comprehensive medical records.
- Provide expert guidance on pain management strategies and rehabilitation options.
Job Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree required.
- Board Certification or Eligibility with the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ABPMR).
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in outpatient musculoskeletal practice; 2 years preferred.
- Proficiency in performing injections and prescribing orthotic devices.
- Strong knowledge of physical rehabilitation treatments and programs for various injuries.
- Ability to lead and collaborate with a team of medical professionals effectively.
- Experience with diagnostic tools such as EMG, NCV, X-rays, and MRIs.
- Excellent communication skills for patient counseling and team coordination.
