Job Description

Overview

  • Lead and enhance safety programs for industrial construction projects, ensuring compliance and fostering a safe work environment.
  • Promote a culture of safety and accountability among teams and subcontractors.
  • Develop and manage comprehensive safety training programs tailored to project-specific needs.
  • Conduct regular inspections, audits, and behavior observations to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Analyze safety performance metrics and provide actionable insights to senior management.
  • Oversee incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Coordinate safety integration into project planning and execution processes.
  • Maintain documentation related to training, inspections, incidents, and permits.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Develop and enforce safety policies, procedures, and systems for industrial construction projects.
  • Conduct inspections, audits, and observations to ensure compliance and identify potential hazards.
  • Lead safety training programs for employees and subcontractors, ensuring thorough education.
  • Investigate incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures.
  • Analyze safety data, identify trends, and recommend improvements to enhance safety performance.
  • Ensure proper use and availability of PPE and safety equipment across job sites.
  • Manage subcontractor safety programs, including prequalification and ongoing monitoring.
  • Collaborate with project managers to integrate safety considerations into project planning.
  • Address environmental and industrial hygiene concerns, ensuring hazard control and compliance.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; advanced education in safety or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in safety management within construction or industrial settings.
  • Proficiency in OSHA regulations and safety codes; familiarity with behavior-based safety programs.
  • Strong skills in inspections, audits, risk assessments, and corrective actions.
  • Effective communication and training abilities to influence teams and leadership.
  • Competence in data analysis, safety metrics, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to work onsite and travel to multiple project locations as needed.
  • Commitment to fostering a safe and compliant work environment.
  • Experience managing documentation for training, inspections, and incident reporting.
