Job Description

Overview

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to legal professionals in a fast-paced environment, ensuring smooth operations and efficient task completion.
  • Assist with document preparation, revision, and indexing for legal cases and transactions.
  • Coordinate schedules, manage calendars, and arrange travel for attorneys and legal staff.
  • Handle correspondence, engagement letters, and other legal documentation with precision and confidentiality.
  • Support financial tasks, including transaction coordination and wire transfers.
  • Utilize document management systems to maintain organized and accessible records.
  • Interact professionally with clients, attorneys, and external counsel to facilitate communication and collaboration.
  • Contribute to the success of legal teams by ensuring operational efficiency and adherence to deadlines.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Conduct legal research and conflict checks using government databases and other resources.
  • Prepare and manage mailings, ensuring accuracy and adherence to timelines.
  • Collaborate with accounting teams to facilitate financial transactions and reporting.
  • Provide general office support while maintaining strict confidentiality standards.
  • Assist with court filings and legal documentation for state and federal cases.
  • Maintain electronic records and ensure compliance with filing protocols and regulations.
  • Support attorneys across various practice areas, adapting to diverse legal needs.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure seamless workflow and task completion.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of experience as a legal assistant in transactional law.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat for document management.
  • Experience with legal time and billing systems is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Federal and South Carolina State Court filing systems is advantageous.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines effectively.
  • High school diploma required; associate degree or paralegal certification preferred.
