Overview
- Take charge as Interim Controller, ensuring financial compliance and operational excellence within a dynamic organization.
- Support leadership in maintaining accurate financial records and implementing robust internal controls.
- Coordinate financial reporting across divisions, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations.
- Oversee accounting operations, including audits and joint ventures, to ensure precision and transparency.
- Assist in HR-related functions, including benefit enrollments and employee inquiries.
- Manage corporate credit card accounts and ensure compliance with established policies.
- Prepare payroll tax returns, year-end reconciliations, and essential documentation.
- Maintain business licenses, tax filings, and personnel records for organizational compliance.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Analyze and reconcile financial data to prepare accurate journal entries and statements.
- Coordinate audit processes, providing necessary documentation and responses to auditors.
- Oversee joint venture accounting operations, ensuring precise financial reporting.
- Assist in onboarding processes and HR functions to support operational efficiency.
- Monitor and reconcile corporate credit card accounts, ensuring proper coding and compliance.
- Review and process corporate bills and reimbursements accurately and timely.
- Maintain organized filing systems and conduct internal audits to ensure compliance.
- Prepare commission statements and manage broker commission payments effectively.
- Ensure adherence to GAAP and industry best practices in all accounting operations.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration is required.
- Minimum of five years of experience in a Controller or similar role.
- Proficiency in Sage software, with preference for Sage 300 experience.
- In-depth knowledge of GAAP and accounting regulations.
- Exceptional communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Experience in preparing payroll tax returns and conducting year-end reconciliations.
- Physical capability to lift and move items up to 35 lbs.
- A positive attitude and adaptability to embrace challenges.
