Job Description

Overview

  • Take charge as Interim Controller, ensuring financial compliance and operational excellence within a dynamic organization.
  • Support leadership in maintaining accurate financial records and implementing robust internal controls.
  • Coordinate financial reporting across divisions, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations.
  • Oversee accounting operations, including audits and joint ventures, to ensure precision and transparency.
  • Assist in HR-related functions, including benefit enrollments and employee inquiries.
  • Manage corporate credit card accounts and ensure compliance with established policies.
  • Prepare payroll tax returns, year-end reconciliations, and essential documentation.
  • Maintain business licenses, tax filings, and personnel records for organizational compliance.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Analyze and reconcile financial data to prepare accurate journal entries and statements.
  • Coordinate audit processes, providing necessary documentation and responses to auditors.
  • Oversee joint venture accounting operations, ensuring precise financial reporting.
  • Assist in onboarding processes and HR functions to support operational efficiency.
  • Monitor and reconcile corporate credit card accounts, ensuring proper coding and compliance.
  • Review and process corporate bills and reimbursements accurately and timely.
  • Maintain organized filing systems and conduct internal audits to ensure compliance.
  • Prepare commission statements and manage broker commission payments effectively.
  • Ensure adherence to GAAP and industry best practices in all accounting operations.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration is required.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in a Controller or similar role.
  • Proficiency in Sage software, with preference for Sage 300 experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP and accounting regulations.
  • Exceptional communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Experience in preparing payroll tax returns and conducting year-end reconciliations.
  • Physical capability to lift and move items up to 35 lbs.
  • A positive attitude and adaptability to embrace challenges.
