Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Process accounts payable invoices, assigning general ledger accounts and managing workflows using advanced tools.
- Download and process deposit files, generating journal entries for contribution receipts efficiently.
- Reconcile accounts receivable balances with the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare adjusting journal entries and resolve discrepancies in financial reports and deposits.
- Maintain depreciation schedules and prepare audit reports for fixed assets annually.
- Generate financial reports for trustees and executives, meeting organizational standards and deadlines.
- Collaborate with departments to address inquiries and discrepancies in financial transactions.
- Contribute to the development of efficient accounting procedures and practices within the team.
Job Requirements
- Associate degree in accounting or a related field is required.
- Minimum of 3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience; 5 years preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word, is essential.
- Experience with accounting software, such as Great Plains, is highly advantageous.
- Strong analytical and reconciliation skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to adapt to procedural changes and meet strict deadlines effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are required.
