Job Description

Overview

  • Support the financial operations of a respected organization by performing precise bookkeeping tasks and maintaining compliance with industry standards.
  • Utilize advanced accounting software to streamline processes and enhance data management accuracy and efficiency.
  • Assist in preparing financial reports and documentation for audits, ensuring meticulous organization and accessibility.
  • Maintain vendor information and financial transaction records for seamless reporting and future reference.
  • Collaborate with departments to resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate financial transactions.
  • Engage in team meetings to contribute to procedural improvements and foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and deadlines while maintaining high standards of accuracy.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Process accounts payable invoices, assigning general ledger accounts and managing workflows using advanced tools.
  • Download and process deposit files, generating journal entries for contribution receipts efficiently.
  • Reconcile accounts receivable balances with the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare adjusting journal entries and resolve discrepancies in financial reports and deposits.
  • Maintain depreciation schedules and prepare audit reports for fixed assets annually.
  • Generate financial reports for trustees and executives, meeting organizational standards and deadlines.
  • Collaborate with departments to address inquiries and discrepancies in financial transactions.
  • Contribute to the development of efficient accounting procedures and practices within the team.

Job Requirements

  • Associate degree in accounting or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience; 5 years preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word, is essential.
  • Experience with accounting software, such as Great Plains, is highly advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and reconciliation skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to adapt to procedural changes and meet strict deadlines effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are required.
  • Capability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
