Job Description

Overview

  • Provide laboratory services under the supervision of the Laboratory Director or designee.
  • Perform laboratory procedures for diagnosing and monitoring medical treatment.
  • Work during night shifts, including every other weekend.
  • Contribute to patient care by delivering accurate laboratory results.
  • Adhere to regulatory requirements and accepted standards.
  • Maintain current certifications and participate in ongoing training.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Commit to professional development and adherence to safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Conduct laboratory tests and procedures as per established protocols.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of laboratory results.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure proper functioning.
  • Comply with safety standards and regulatory guidelines.
  • Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in training and mentoring new laboratory staff.
  • Collaborate with medical teams to support patient diagnosis and treatment.
  • Manage inventory and ensure availability of necessary supplies.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in a relevant field.
  • Certified Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) with ASCP or AMT(HHS) certification.
  • Minimum of 1 year of clinical laboratory experience; 3 years preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Proficiency in laboratory procedures and equipment handling.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance and safety standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
