Overview

  • Perform essential laboratory procedures in a dynamic, fast-paced clinical environment, ensuring accurate and timely test results.
  • Operate and maintain advanced laboratory equipment, contributing to reliable diagnostics and patient care.
  • Prepare reagents, controls, and samples for diverse laboratory tests, adhering to strict protocols.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to interpret and communicate test outcomes effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with confidentiality standards and laboratory regulations at all times.
  • Participate in ongoing training and skill enhancement opportunities to stay updated with industry practices.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Access and process specimens, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to testing protocols.
  • Perform routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Monitor and document equipment performance and environmental conditions regularly.
  • Conduct proficiency testing and report findings to supervisory staff for quality assurance.
  • Assist in retrieving and communicating patient test results, addressing technical inquiries as needed.
  • Notify healthcare providers of critical test values promptly, following established protocols.
  • Document laboratory activities and results comprehensively, maintaining accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve organizational objectives and enhance service delivery.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; strong foundation in biological sciences preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of medical laboratory experience; 2 years preferred for advanced proficiency.
  • Proficient in microscopy techniques and familiar with medical terminology for effective operations.
  • Competent in using computer applications relevant to laboratory management and reporting.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage tasks efficiently under time constraints.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to follow detailed instructions accurately.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical laboratory practices.
