Job Description

Overview

  • Perform diagnostic radiographic procedures ensuring high-quality imaging and patient safety.
  • Assist in fluoroscopic procedures, maintaining clean and adequately stocked rooms.
  • Assess patient condition, ensuring proper positioning and safe transfer techniques.
  • Adhere to ALARA principles and hospital policies to minimize radiation exposure.
  • Complete requisitions accurately, verifying patient identity and exam details.
  • Maintain thorough records and perform quality assurance tasks efficiently.
  • Operate diagnostic radiographic equipment and report malfunctions promptly.
  • Support clinical instruction of student radiographers and maintain professional competency.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Perform routine radiographic procedures across various locations ensuring imaging quality.
  • Assist in fluoroscopic procedures, ensuring room cleanliness and adequate supplies.
  • Assess and prepare patients for procedures, ensuring safety and proper positioning.
  • Follow ALARA principles and infection control policies to ensure safety.
  • Accurately complete requisitions and verify patient identity and exam details.
  • Maintain accurate records and perform quality assurance tasks efficiently.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment effectively and report malfunctions promptly.
  • Provide clinical instruction to student radiographers and ensure professional competency.

Job Requirements

  • Graduation from an American Medical Association-approved Radiologic Technology program.
  • Minimum of two years of experience as a Staff Radiologic Technologist preferred.
  • Current New York State licensure in Radiologic Technology required.
  • Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists preferred.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required.
  • Strong communication, time management, and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in basic computer and data entry tasks.
  • Commitment to maintaining professional competency through continuing education.
