Job Description

Overview

  • Lead burn care services across inpatient, outpatient, and acute care settings, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care delivery.
  • Drive program growth and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance operational efficiency and regulatory compliance.
  • Promote exceptional patient and family experiences through consistent, evidence-based practices and education initiatives.
  • Oversee staffing, scheduling, and professional development of nursing staff to maintain a culture of accountability and teamwork.
  • Ensure readiness for burn emergencies and disaster response protocols, supporting interdisciplinary communication and collaboration.
  • Participate in budget planning and resource optimization to maintain high standards of patient care while controlling costs.
  • Contribute to policy development, protocol updates, and community outreach initiatives to advance burn care services.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Lead, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff across burn inpatient and outpatient services, ensuring competency and engagement.
  • Direct daily operations, including patient flow, supply management, and adherence to clinical protocols.
  • Monitor infection control practices, patient outcomes, and documentation quality to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Address patient and family concerns professionally, supporting education and coordinated follow-up care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ensure medication safety and EMR documentation accuracy.
  • Optimize staffing efficiency, equipment procurement, and operational workflows to enhance resource management.
  • Support community outreach and education initiatives to promote burn care awareness and partnerships.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
  • Current Louisiana RN license with certifications in BLS and ACLS; PALS and ABLS preferred.
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of clinical experience in burn or critical care specialties.
  • 2–3 years of leadership experience in a healthcare setting, managing teams and operations.
  • Proficiency in EMR systems and understanding of financial management principles.
  • Strong problem-solving, conflict resolution, and decision-making abilities in fast-paced environments.
  • Knowledge of quality improvement, patient safety, and regulatory standards in burn care.
