Overview

  • Lead perioperative services, ensuring high-quality patient care and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance surgical outcomes and staff development.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and goals for perioperative services.
  • Maintain fiscal responsibility, managing budgets and resources effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
  • Provide leadership in education and training for perioperative staff.
  • Act as a liaison between staff, administration, and medical teams.
  • Promote a culture of safety, compassion, and excellence in patient care.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Oversee daily operations within the perioperative department, ensuring optimal patient care.
  • Collaborate with educators to provide ongoing staff training and development.
  • Develop and implement department-specific goals and objectives.
  • Ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage budgets, including operating and capital expenditures.
  • Conduct performance appraisals and support staff growth initiatives.
  • Participate in management meetings, contributing to strategic planning.
  • Act as a liaison between perioperative staff and other departments.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of acute care leadership experience in an operating room setting.
  • 5 years of RN staff-level operating room experience preferred.
  • Current State of Texas RN license or compact state license required.
  • Current Healthcare Provider BLS certification from AHA or ARC required.
  • CNOR certification preferred.
  • Strong clinical knowledge in surgical nursing and perioperative services.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
