Overview
- Lead a mission-driven organization dedicated to advocating for children experiencing abuse or neglect.
- Serve as the chief executive officer, providing strategic and operational leadership to achieve organizational goals.
- Collaborate with the Board of Directors to strengthen governance and organizational effectiveness.
- Oversee high-quality advocacy programs supporting children, volunteers, and families.
- Cultivate relationships with community partners, funders, donors, and stakeholders to enhance fundraising efforts.
- Ensure compliance with National and State standards while maintaining program quality.
- Provide visible leadership presence across office locations in the Eastern Panhandle.
- Support the organization’s sustainability through effective grant management and reporting.
- Inspire and guide a dedicated team of staff and volunteers to fulfill the organization’s mission.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Develop and implement strategic plans to advance the organization’s mission and goals.
- Partner with the Board of Directors to set priorities and provide governance support.
- Oversee program quality, ensuring effective advocacy for children and families.
- Lead fundraising initiatives, including donor cultivation and grant applications.
- Manage organizational finances, including budgeting, tracking, and reporting.
- Serve as the public representative of the organization, building community relationships.
- Support staff and volunteers through leadership, training, and engagement.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
- Attend court proceedings, community events, and Board activities as required.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in relevant fields such as Social Work, Psychology, or Public Administration.
- Minimum of 10 years of leadership experience in nonprofit or volunteer-driven organizations.
- Proven success in fundraising, financial oversight, and organizational management.
- Strong communication, strategic thinking, and relationship-building skills.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with boards, community leaders, and stakeholders.
- Commitment to the mission of advocating for children’s best interests.
- Willingness to maintain a visible leadership presence across office locations.
