Overview

  • Join a dynamic property management firm as a Property Accountant, contributing to financial operations and supporting a growing portfolio of multifamily residential properties.
  • Collaborate with a dedicated accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with industry standards.
  • Gain exposure to various aspects of the real estate lifecycle, including acquisition, management, financing, and disposition.

  • Work closely with AP and AR teams to ensure accurate GL coding and reconciliations.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial records.
  • Prepare and record month-end journal entries, maintaining compliance with accounting standards.
  • Review and reconcile escrow accounts to ensure proper fund allocation.
  • Assist in preparing required financial statements for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the finance team with day-to-day activities and special projects.
  • Verify accuracy of GL coding and advise AP and AR teams on necessary corrections.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to internal controls and financial procedures.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Accounting or related field required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate accounting.
  • Proficiency in Yardi Voyager software strongly preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills essential for success.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience with financial statement preparation and month-end close processes.
  • Knowledge of internal controls and financial procedure optimization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address financial challenges.
