Job Description

Overview

  • The Senior Accountant role involves managing monthly general ledger close and preparing financial statements.
  • Provide accurate financial statements to support senior management decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles and internal controls.
  • Collaborate in a fast-paced environment with high transaction volumes.
  • Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and interpret financial positions.
  • Address audit requests and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Engage in payroll reconciliations and tax reporting processes.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage month-end close processes including payroll, accounts receivable, and accruals.
  • Reconcile general ledger and sub-ledger accounts ensuring accuracy.
  • Prepare financial reports to summarize and interpret company financial positions.
  • Maintain internal controls and compliance with accounting principles.
  • Investigate and correct errors in financial entries and reports.
  • Prepare federal, state, and local tax reports and returns.
  • Collaborate with auditors to address audit requests efficiently.
  • Utilize advanced Excel functions for financial analysis and reporting.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field is required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior or general ledger accounting role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics and advanced Excel functions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Experience in a healthcare background is a plus.
  • Ability to work on-site in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Must complete an Excel assessment and answer preparatory questions.
  • Reports directly to the Controller with hands-on responsibilities.
