Job Description

Overview

  • Serve as a Senior Accountant, contributing to the financial management of renewable energy projects.
  • Perform accounting and reporting duties for solar project entities and tax equity partnerships.
  • Execute monthly close processes and prepare financial statements with accuracy.
  • Support complex partnership accounting and renewable energy financial matters.
  • Collaborate with management to analyze financial results and provide insights.
  • Contribute to ERP system optimization and automation initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal controls.
  • Document accounting processes and identify efficiency improvement opportunities.
  • Work in a dynamic environment focused on renewable energy projects.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Prepare and post journal entries for project entities and tax equity funds.
  • Perform account reconciliations and resolve variances promptly.
  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Analyze financial results and provide variance explanations to management.
  • Support consolidation processes and intercompany reconciliations.
  • Track and account for work-in-progress and project capitalization.
  • Monitor operating expenses and ensure accurate reporting.
  • Prepare audit schedules and respond to external auditor requests.
  • Assist with tracking and accounting for Investment Tax Credits and other incentives.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required; CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in multi-entity environments.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, or Sage Intacct preferred.
  • Proficiency in fixed assets, WIP, and revenue recognition accounting.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Proactive mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exposure to renewable energy or project-based accounting is advantageous.
