Overview

- Manage payroll, tax compliance, and regulatory documentation with precision and confidentiality.
- Develop and implement policies to enhance financial integrity and operational efficiency.
- Support audits, budgeting, and cost analysis to inform strategic decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with local and state tax regulations relevant to the construction industry.
- Contribute to subcontractor prequalification processes, maintaining confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Establish and maintain robust internal controls, policies, and procedures.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support strategic planning.
- Oversee general ledger management, payroll processing, and 401K administration.
- Ensure compliance in payroll-related returns and IRS documentation.
- Monitor job cost data and project accounting for accuracy and reliability.
- Develop expertise in sales/use tax returns and industry-specific regulations.
- Maintain licenses and tax accounts proactively to ensure compliance.
- Support subcontractor financial evaluations and uphold confidentiality standards.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA license or MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in construction financial and general ledger accounting.
- Proficiency in communication, planning, organization, and analytical skills.
- Detail-oriented and self-motivated with strong organizational abilities.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, multi-task effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of local and state tax regulations within the construction industry.
- Experience in payroll processing, tax preparation, and compliance documentation.
- Strong mentoring and training capabilities for junior staff development.
