Overview

  • Lead and manage inpatient rehabilitation nursing services, ensuring high-quality patient care and operational excellence.
  • Coordinate and supervise nursing staff activities to support safe and efficient healthcare delivery.
  • Implement performance improvement initiatives, hospital policies, and financial management strategies for the unit.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to foster effective communication and continuity of care.
  • Provide leadership and advocacy for nursing staff, promoting professional development and performance excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with age-specific standards and regulatory requirements within the assigned unit.
  • Maintain accountability for the supervision and evaluation of nursing activities and services.
  • Participate in financial planning and budgeting processes to optimize resource utilization.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Supervise and evaluate nursing care provided on the inpatient rehabilitation unit.
  • Coordinate unit activities to ensure safe and efficient healthcare delivery.
  • Assist in implementing hospital policies, procedures, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Serve as a clinical resource and advocate for nursing staff development.
  • Manage physician relations and foster collaborative practice among healthcare teams.
  • Conduct staff interviews, hiring, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
  • Plan and coordinate unit-related educational programs and staff meetings.
  • Participate in financial management and budgeting for the assigned unit.
  • Ensure compliance with age-specific standards and regulatory requirements.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution required.
  • Current RN license for the State of Texas or compact license required.
  • American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS and ACLS certifications required.
  • CRRN certification preferred and required within three years of hire.
  • Pass the licensed personnel FIM exam within 60 days of hire.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical experience in inpatient rehabilitation nursing.
  • Previous management experience or demonstrated leadership ability required.
  • Strong knowledge of nursing standards and professional practices.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills to manage unit operations effectively.
