Job Description

Overview

  • Manage payroll accounting processes, ensuring compliance with GAAP and SOX regulations.
  • Collaborate with HR and HRIS teams to maintain accurate employee data policies.
  • Supervise and develop staff, fostering a high-performance team culture.
  • Provide support for audits and resolve labor cost-related inquiries.
  • Prepare and analyze payroll accounting reports and reconciliations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
  • Ensure timely resolution of payroll discrepancies with internal and external partners.
  • Work in a hybrid environment with flexibility for remote work.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Oversee month-end close processes, including journal entries and financial statement analysis.
  • Develop and maintain policies for employee data changes in payroll systems.
  • Prepare and record annual bonus accruals and quarterly PTO true-ups.
  • Review and prepare balance sheet reconciliations and flux analysis.
  • Provide training and feedback to staff to enhance performance.
  • Support external audits and address labor cost-related inquiries.
  • Utilize Oracle Fusion, Microsoft Dynamics 365, and Alteryx for payroll accounting tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and SOX regulations in payroll processes.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of full-cycle payroll accounting experience required.
  • Comprehensive understanding of payroll processes and tax/benefit calculations.
  • Experience with Oracle Fusion, Microsoft Dynamics 365, and Alteryx.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and SOX regulations.
  • CPA designation and public accounting experience are preferred.
  • Ability to manage large data files and perform data manipulation.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
