Overview
- Perform routine radiographic procedures across various hospital departments ensuring high-quality imaging and patient care.
- Assist with fluoroscopic procedures and maintain clean, well-stocked imaging rooms for operational efficiency.
- Assess patient condition and comprehension, ensuring proper positioning and safe transfer techniques.
- Adhere to ALARA principles and hospital policies to minimize radiation exposure and ensure patient safety.
- Accurately complete requisitions, verify patient identity, and confirm correct exam site and body part.
- Maintain thorough records and complete assigned quality assurance tasks efficiently.
- Operate diagnostic radiographic equipment appropriately and report equipment malfunctions promptly.
- Supervise and support the clinical instruction of student radiographers to foster professional growth.
- Maintain professional competency through continuing education and compliance with licensure requirements.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Perform radiographic imaging procedures with precision and adherence to safety protocols.

- Verify patient identity and exam details to maintain accuracy and prevent errors.
- Operate diagnostic equipment effectively and report malfunctions for timely resolution.
- Provide guidance and supervision to student radiographers during clinical instruction.
- Engage in continuing education to maintain professional competency and licensure compliance.
Job Requirements
- Graduation from an American Medical Association-approved two-year Radiologic Technology program.
- Minimum of two years of experience as a Staff Radiologic Technologist in a hospital setting preferred.
- Current New York State licensure in Radiologic Technology required.
- Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) preferred.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required.
- Strong communication, time management, and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in basic computer and data entry tasks.
- Commitment to maintaining professional competency through ongoing education.
