Job Description

Overview

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities in a dynamic healthcare environment.
  • Coordinate medical care, monitor health needs, and arrange follow-up care as necessary.
  • Conduct health assessments and document findings to ensure optimal care delivery.
  • Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, families, and healthcare providers.
  • Develop and update individual-specific nursing plans and protocols.
  • Supervise medication administration and provide training for staff as needed.
  • Monitor dietary and nutritional needs, providing guidance to support staff.
  • Participate in clinical reviews and evaluations to enhance care quality.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and current RN license in New York State.
  • CPR certification and experience with developmental disabilities preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Valid NY State or Tri-state area Driver's License preferred.
  • Strong teamwork skills and ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency in developing and updating nursing plans and protocols.
  • Knowledge of medication administration and compliance with federal and state regulations.
