Job Description

Overview

  • Lead architectural projects from feasibility studies to final handover, ensuring objectives, requirements, and budgets are met effectively.
  • Collaborate with clients to define functional and spatial requirements, delivering tailored design solutions and specifications.
  • Integrate engineering elements into unified designs, preparing detailed scale drawings and contract documents.
  • Administer construction contracts, conducting on-site observations to ensure compliance with plans and standards.
  • Utilize computer-assisted design software to create project designs and plans, enhancing efficiency and accuracy.
  • Coordinate with consultants and subcontractors, establishing timelines for construction documents and project milestones.
  • Oversee department operations, managing budgets, schedules, and staff to achieve project goals.
  • Promote organizational reputation by exploring opportunities to add value and accomplish unique requests.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Research, plan, design, and administer building projects, adhering to zoning codes and construction procedures.
  • Prepare design specifications, materials, and cost estimates, ensuring client satisfaction and project feasibility.
  • Represent clients in obtaining bids and awarding construction contracts, maintaining transparency and efficiency.
  • Conduct periodic on-site observations during construction to monitor compliance with design plans.
  • Direct activities of team members preparing drawings and specification documents, fostering collaboration and productivity.
  • Review shop drawings provided by subcontractors and manufacturers, ensuring accuracy and adherence to design.
  • Manage office computer systems and software licensing, coordinating with IT professionals for solutions.
  • Generate mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and civil drawings for smaller projects without consultant involvement.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Architecture (B.Arch.) or equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in architectural firms; 10 years preferred.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Architecture, Microsoft Office, and structural calculation software.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills to manage budgets, schedules, and staff effectively.
  • Ability to review and analyze shop drawings, ensuring compliance with project specifications.
  • Experience in coordinating with consultants and subcontractors, establishing timelines for project documentation.
  • Knowledge of zoning and building codes, construction procedures, and building materials.
  • Capability to adapt to setbacks and resolve problems effectively during project execution.
