Overview

  • The Senior Accountant role offers a dynamic opportunity to manage financial operations and ensure compliance with accounting standards within a hybrid work environment.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Upload biweekly payroll and allocate monthly benefits, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Perform monthly accrual entries and reconcile over 20 bank accounts to maintain financial accuracy.
  • Update schedules for prepaid expenses, insurance, deferred rent, fixed assets, and other financial items.
  • Prepare journal entries and analyze financial information for general ledger accounts.
  • Handle month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities efficiently.
  • Monitor funder payments and assist in annual and program-specific audits.
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure compliance with accounting standards and deadlines.
  • Utilize accounting software and Excel to optimize financial processes and reporting.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, with 7 years preferred.
  • Solid understanding of accounting processes and procedures, including nonprofit accounting.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills, is essential.
  • Experience with accounting software systems is highly desirable.
  • Ability to compile and analyze financial information for accurate reporting.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
