Job Description

Overview

  • Lead the financial accounting function, ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal policies in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.
  • Collaborate with leadership to drive financial planning, budgeting, and strategic initiatives, delivering impactful insights and recommendations.
  • Oversee accounting operations, including AP/AR, payroll, fixed assets, inventory management, and external audit coordination.
  • Develop financial models to support scenario planning, cost optimization, and strategic decision-making processes.
  • Evaluate and implement financial systems and automation tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Foster a culture of accountability and collaboration within the accounting team, mentoring and developing team members.
  • Ensure timely preparation and delivery of accurate financial statements and management reports.
  • Support board reporting and investor communications with detailed financial insights and analysis.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
  • Manage general ledger, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting workflows.
  • Collaborate on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support strategic initiatives.
  • Develop and implement financial models for cash flow analysis and cost optimization.
  • Evaluate financial systems and automation tools to improve operational efficiency.
  • Establish and maintain internal controls and risk management protocols.
  • Coordinate external audits and tax filings, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Mentor and manage a team of accountants and analysts, fostering professional growth.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, with supervisory experience.
  • Preferred 7 years of experience in accounting roles, ideally within the wholesale industry.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and familiarity with QuickBooks preferred.
  • CPA certification is a plus, demonstrating advanced accounting expertise.
  • Strong communication skills and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Experience with financial systems evaluation and implementation is advantageous.
